I am not one of those diehard Wicked fans, although I do like the show. And you would think if asked what song best captures my feelings about my dad’s passing, I’d have a good list of faith-focused songs in mind. But truthfully, the most powerful song I know about the impact of relationships on your life, and the recognition of that impact that only comes at parting, is For Good from the Wicked soundtrack. And it is umpteen times more powerful when you read the context of how Broadway genius Stephen Schwartz came to write the lyrics.
